Video Reviews
By Grant Dixon, Editor "New Zealand Fishing News"
Paul and Peggy Barnes might well be described as the "godparents" of kitefishing in New Zealand, being responsible for the development of the kites, rigs and a club in this country.
In Paul's 60-minute video, The Kitefishing Video Encyclopedia, the latest in kite fishing technology and how to use it to fish a kilometre or so offshore ( while keeping your feet firmly on the beach ) are all covered.
This comprehensive video shows how to set up and fish the various fishing rigs in detail.
Included are the knots used, the fishing hooks, baits, fishing rigs and safety features of a number kite fishing styles, from dropper rigs through to longlines and reef fishing rigs. Other tricks of the trade, such as tacking, trolling lures and fishing
livebaits, are also covered.
A feature of the video is the easy-to-follow colour fishing rig diagrams created on computer by Paul.
