As the new kites cannot dive to the bottom and are recovered easily on the surface there is almost no chance of damaging the kite on the sea bed or overloading the kite or kiteline. The new inflatable kites have no flapping trailing edge
so the chances of fraying are also minimised.
The air bladders will last well if looked after (keep them away from sharp objects) and each bladder will often last 10 or more fishing trips, spare bladders are provided with the kites and extra spares are available at around a dollar each if required.
Kite fishers in light wind areas, particularly those around the central North Island and Bay of Plenty will not only achieve all the above benefits, they will also be able to kite fish the light early morning offshore breezes that often blow from just
after sunrise until mid morning.
West coast fishers will be amazed at the power of the new kites which will allow faster setting through the strong longshore current and better holding of the rig against the rip once it is set.
The kites can be tacked up to 40 degrees off the wind so regardless of where you kite fish, or which kitefishing rig you use, the new inflatable fishing kites will considerably increase the number of fishable days and drastically reduce the chance of
any mishap to kite or gear while you are out there.
